RASA III- Remembering Steel Skies Raining Tears - 13 minutes. Audio Demo

This work makes use of stylistic influences from Eastern European Jewish and Armenian music. It is dedicated to composer Peter Gary, born Abrahm Peter Grimberg, a Jewish Hungarian-American composer who grew up in Budapest in the 1920s and '30s. Peter Gary studied composition and conducting at the Budapest Conservatory of Music under Kolady and Bartok. He is also a survivor of Dachau and Bergen Belsen and has spoken publicly many times, often to high school students, about this tragic experience. 

This work is designed to invoke a sense of the internal self-struggle with unforgettable memories; the memories that require the greatest endurance and heroism from those who have been fated to harbor them.
